Wonderful Wednesday

I can't believe it's already Wednesday again!

I first wanted to start off by saying- any of you that don't throw your name in the pot for giveaways, y'all are missing out! I have scored big time over the last couple of weeks with some really awesome products! I wanted to share them with you to not only promote my fellow bloggy friends, but also just to share these awesome items that you might not have in your collection yet. Click on any of the items to be taken to the TPT page. :)

This is technically a Valentine's Day product, but I am totally using it post-V-Day as a Reading Workshop Game Station. :) Mary from Pitner's Potpourri gave me this lovely:
It's aligned with 2nd and 3rd grades' Common Core, but honestly, my 4th graders still don't have this down 100% yet, so I was excited to get these fun games in this pack!

I also received a wonderful product from Jessica (great name!) at Joy in the Journey - I got her February Mega Pack! I had SO much planned for Valentine's Day already (thanks to TPT's Super Sale and my own stuff), so I didn't get to use any of her V-Day stuff this year, but we have been enjoying the President's Day part of the pack this week!
We completed a cut and paste comparison activity that was wonderful for my kiddos. We don't learn about Lincoln in 4th grade curriculum, but we DO learn about Washington. So they were able to INFER the ones that matched for Lincoln because of what they knew about Washington. (For example, they knew John Adams was Washington's Vice President, so Andrew Johnson must have been Lincoln's! And they knew Washington could not have served in 1861 because he would have been over 100 years old!)

We also did her February Acrostic after brainstorming "special" things about February! Here's one of my kiddo's master piece:
Ok, so maybe he hasn't grasped the meaning of rarely... (Rarely does Valentine's day come) but I thought it was pretty clever with "Ultra February" for Leap Year, and the "All the presidents" line was cute too. :-P

I got these awesome Segmented Circle Frames from Julie at My Journey to 5th Grade. Be looking for them in some upcoming TPT products I'm making! :)

Finally, I am SUPER excited to share with you this awesome product I just received in my inbox today! Kathy from Third Grade Doodles posted last week about a HUGE Informational Writing Unit she created and I was immediately interested. I am always looking for ways to help my kiddos with informational writing because... well... they just aren't very good at it! That's not to say they are BAD... just BORING!! :-P We will begin Kathy's unit first thing Monday, and I am so excited about it! It looks great, and she has everything you need right there, including a complete sample! (It is 101 pages!)

Ok so... if you've made it this far, (and I hope you have!!) I am finally linking up up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting!

Anyone that knows me, knows I'm addicted to Pinterest (and Facebook... and now blogging... oh dear, what has my life become??? One big iPad!!) so I'm excited about this linky party!! Here are some of my favorite things I've pinned this week. :)

How adorable are these?? My birthday is actually on St. Patrick's Day, so I might get a little crazy about it. :-P

As I just mentioned above, I'm always looking for ways to "spice up" Informational Writing-so I loved this "Grabbers" Anchor Chart!!

I love this too because we work on "classifying ourselves" with Math Exemplars. I like the language used in this one.

Had to end with this one. And all I can say is: TRUE. :)
